Privacy Policy

Circuit ("the app") generates running/walking loop routes from your current location, timed to pass nearby points of interest, and lets you track runs, collect places you've passed into a personal journal, and optionally follow other runners. This policy explains what data the app collects, why, and how you can delete it.
What we collect

Public profiles and shared runs
If you choose to make your profile or runs public, other users can see your username, runner stats, journal highlights, and the runs you've shared. Shared runs never expose your exact starting or ending location. The beginning and end of the GPS path are trimmed by a configurable radius (200m by default, adjustable in Settings) before the run is ever made public, so your home or workplace location stays private even when a run is shared.
Third parties
Circuit relies on a small number of outside services, and shares data with them only as far as it takes to make a feature work:
- Google Maps Platform (Places, Routes, and Elevation) receives the coordinates of the area you are generating a route in, so it can return nearby points of interest, walking directions, and elevation. It does not receive your account details.
- Supabase provides the database, sign-in, and file storage behind your account, and stores the data described above.
- Apple and Google verify your identity if you choose Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google. They confirm who you are to us; we never see your password.
- Expo delivers push notifications to your device, if you turn notifications on. This means a notification's text (for example, that someone commented on your run) passes through Expo in order to reach you. Turning notifications off in Settings stops this entirely.
Each of these providers is required to protect your data to at least the same standard set out in this policy, and to use it only to deliver their service to Circuit. We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for advertising, profiling, or tracking of any kind.
Your choices
- You can use the app as a guest without creating an account (with a limited number of free route generations); no account data is collected until you sign up.
- You can make your profile and runs private at any time in Settings.
- You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Settings → Delete account. This permanently deletes your account and all associated data (run history, journal, saved routes, social graph) from our servers. This cannot be undone.
