Peritus is a VS Code extension designed for smarter coding — built to share knowledge and context within a file and identify issues before they become problems. It leverages GPT-powered machine learning to provide answers, insights, and debugging assistance directly within the IDE.
This project was built in the early days of ChatGPT using OpenAI API keys. We successfully published it as a fully functional VS Code extension available for download on the marketplace, where it has accumulated over 100 downloads.
I worked as the product manager on this project, responsible for defining the product vision, determining what capabilities we wanted the extension to have, and conducting research to assess what was technically viable. The extension works entirely within the IDE, giving developers the power to debug, view files in context, and get AI-powered insights without leaving their workflow.
